CPA here; I work for a
company that outsources the bookkeeping, accounting, and Controller services for SMBs using QuickBooks. Not being "salesy;" just wanted to set the stage.
We use Tsheets internally for our own company and recommend/implement it with most of our clients. It works great, is priced well, and syncs very well with QB.
If your employees are showing up to the same location/s every day, Tsheets can
provide a kiosk at no extra change, which will accomplish what you're looking for from a biometric prospective. If you have folks going out to different job sites all the time (think Direct TV installation company), then currently Tsheets doesn't have a solution for biometrics that will meet that need, but they're working on it (I literally just called them to get clarification to write this post).
EDIT they don't currently have biometric solutions for mobile workers, but mobile workers can absolutely clock in and out on their smartphones while out and about.
