I recently moved to California and I'm starting an LLC. I'm a private swim teacher and I have been building a list of clients in areas such as Brentwood and Santa Monica, and I want to officially establish my business here.

A goal of mine is to expand this further and eventually have employees. I'm extremely optimistic about this, but first and foremost I'm looking for the right way to handle my accounting and taxes. I'm currently using Wave to keep track of payments, customers, and invoices.

Anyone able to give me general advice as far as owning a small business and getting it started? Also ways to tackle my taxes - Software vs. CPA, etc?

TIA

Consult a lawyer and CPA when setting it up. California has a myriad of tax laws.
