Already max 401k and have over 6 month emergency fund. No credit card debt. Stable employment. Don't need it for years. It's 60K that came my way unexpectedly from a relative. Need some ideas from you smart kids

There's so many different routes you could take here but it sounds like you are wanting it to be for retirement income someday?

If so then I think the most logical option would just be to put together a diverse portfolio of dividend paying stocks and or etfs and maybe some tax free bonds in accordance with your risk tolerance and let it ride!

Congrats
Been waiting so long

Wait until Trump gets tax rates lowered, then roll over equivalent amount from 401k into a Roth and pay the taxes out of the 60,000. Invest the balance as suggested above. Huge tax free windfall if you have time to let the Roth do its magic.

Has to be a rollover since you have 401k. Any money in the Roth is locked up for 5 years before you can cash out though
