Luckily, we are net free holdings. Could be worse.

Pitney Bowes with another dive after earnings. I casually monitor it since I have only a few bucks in it. Curious if this is a "cut your loss" type of company.

They are an established company, they are what they are

If they were to expand where would they go? Seems unlikely

Are they a potential buyout candidate? Do they acquire someone like stamps.com and what would that get them?

You have to answer those for yourself



Personally, I'd be looking for an exit strategy, I think there are better companies with more upside to leave your money. Maybe sell calls on a rebound and try to get your shares called out.

I cancelled most of my stop losses because this seemed like a stupid selloff. I expect it regains tomorrow.

I'm really tempted to jump back in on some more RTN these last few minutes.

Glad I blew out of NVDA at the open.

Me too, but my past experiences say it's just throwing money away and its best to just cut losses and find new plays. That said, I'll still be watching tomorrow to see how it goes.

On another note, from someone who didn't follow the markets until recently, is it common that a company meets or beats expectations then takes an absolute dump in price? Is it smarter to use puts for post earnings instead?

Many times price action is forward looking. If a company misses investors lose trust and sell. If a company beats but guides lower investors lose trust and sell. If a company beats and expects to continue doing well investors buy.

sometimes its "priced in" leading up to earnings and sometimes its guidance in the call, other times it just moves as it does

In general...you either make an assumption for or against or play neutral, you should be looking into these type of things a probably a month before earnings

if unsure and you have enough buying power you could sell an out of the money call and put at twice the expected move, a strangle(call strike at twice the expected move up and the put at twice the expected move down.......or whatever strikes seem most palatable)

I'm no options expert, but I think what you described is a collar, not a strangle...

A collar is when you own the stock, sell an OTM call and use the proceeds to buy a put. Its a "collar" bc upside is limited, but downside is protected. Its all around.

Selling both an OTM call and OTM put as he described is a strangle. As long as the stock stays between the strikes, you make money. Selling a strangle is a bet on low volatility; ie, that the stock won't move enough quick enough to pay off.

Will need to watch the next couple of days but the volume action was "meh" overall. At this point this looks like a post-fed tantrum from the markets. Did they seriously think the fed was going to LOWER rates? This sell off didn't even get 70% of the selling action as the one earlier on trend.

If any form of trend resumes all of the May 17 trades are still viable. Still, if people didn't sell NVDA as it approached that $185 technical target mentioned when it hit $181 then why not? And RTN and others on the strong open were picture perfect exits. TEUM was a perfect exit.

Money should have been made all over the place today.

Sold my NVDA calls at the open. I also bought a SQ put on your advice, thanks.

Why is Tesla skyrocketing all of a sudden?

FEYE with the engulfing contrarian candle. So NOW its probably going to shoot upward past $17. Even though technicals say so I've blacklisted it.
