If you're looking for free summer fun in BCS this summer, there's plenty of it! Below is a list of just some of those events. For a full list check out our events calendar. Also check out the SEAD Gallery, and exhibits.

First Fridays
Downtown Bryan is the place to be on the first Friday of every month. A variety of musicians set up along the streets, performers do magic tricks, and artists set up their wares for display. Restaurants and shops stay open later, and there are often free movies shown in the park during the summer. First Fridays this summer are July 1, August 5 and September 2.


Movies in the Park
The College Station Parks & Recreation Department occasionally airs movies for free at Wolf Pen Creek Park Amphitheater. There are usually activities for children prior to the movie starting, and pets are welcome.
"Jaws": 8 p.m. June 24
"Jurassic World": Gates open at 7:30 p.m., and the movie starts at 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 12
Other activities: Free sno-cones for the first 500 people in line. Free popcorn from Texas Popcorn Company.

Movies by the Pond
Bring your blankets and chairs to the presidential pond at the George Bush Presidential Center for free movies, games and free refreshments. Everyone is welcome at 7 p.m., and the movies will start after sundown.

Live music
Starlight Music Series
Bring the family out to Wolf Pen Creek Park and enjoy a variety of music at Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater. Concessions are available for purchase.
June 11: Memphis Train Revue with guests Gab. Ayers, G.R.A.C.E. and Dysfunkshun Junkshun
June 25: Shane Smith and the Saints with guests John Baumann and Katye Hamlin
July 2: The bands for this date will be determined by voters. 12 bands are competing for three spots, and voting ends June 10. Vote here.

Summer Sunset Series
There will be free concerts every Thursday in June and two Thursdays in August at the Palace Theater in Downtown Bryan. All shows start at 8 p.m.

Free wine tastings
Royalty Pecan Farms offers three free tastings every first Saturday of the month from 1 to 4 p.m. through October. Guests are welcome to bring a picnic lunch, and don't forget to buy some delicious pecan treats!


4th of July
The festivities start at 5:30 p.m. on July 4 for the annual party at the George Bush Presidential Library Center. Concessions include roasted corn, Slovacek's sausage on a stick, and free watermelon while supplies last. The Kids Zone will open at 6 p.m. and will have games and bounce houses. The Museum will have free admission from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and fireworks will start after it gets dark.

Sports
IFA-VTD
Some of the best fast-pitch softball teams from across the state will be in Bryan College Station for a tournament June 9-12. Teams made up of players ages 6 through high school will be playing at fields all over the area, as well as some in Franklin and Brenham.

Primetime 7 on 7
Get a preview of the high school seasons to come, as 150 middle school and JV-level teams from Texas and Louisiana compete June 25-26 at Veterans Park.

7 on 7 State Tournament
College coaches have their eyes on some of the high school players coming in town for this tournament, so why wouldn't you? More than 2,500 of the most talented football players in Texas will compete for the 7 on 7 state title July 7-9 at Veterans Park. Who knows? Maybe you'll be able to see some future Aggies.
