Best way to get from JFK to W 36th?
Must see sights? Obviously Statue of Liberty and Ground Zero.
Looking to see a show.. Suggestions.
Also going to Astros v Yankees one night...

take a cab/uber
take the subway early to the game and expect a complete cluster F after the game getting on the subway. horrible logistics at the field. essentially one station in/out.

walk around central park.

Thanks. It's been several years since I have been in the City... and then I needed to be a multiple locations so I rented a car...

I was debating between cab/uber or the train... Appreciate the feedback.

I remember the CF at the "old" Yankee Stadium... but that was 15 years ago...

definitely the easiest. That said, if you are coming in around rush hour, I'd take the A train. It'll go express after you hit Elucid and will stop at 36th/Madison Square.

We are scheduled to land around 11:30AM...

Leaving, we depart at 6:30PM so we'll need to be at the airport by around 4:30PM. Should miss the rush hour.

Whitney Museum and then walk the High Line.
MOMA
Central Park
Bryant Park
Avoid Times Square
Meatpacking District is cool

Go see the musical &Juliet. It is hilarious with rocking music.

Statue of Liberty - book the tour ahead if you want to go onto the pedestal/island

I like top of the rock or Empire state building. Night is cool as is day.

Met - this can take a long time....

Catch broadway show - I like Moulin Rouge.

Ground Zero - leave some time so you can do the museum and see it all. well worth it.

2 must see musicals: MJ (Michael Jackson) & Kimberly Akimbo.

Thanks all. I don't plan on loading us up with activities... 1-2 per day... mainly a food and baseball weekend.

Moulin Rouge (if you can only see one, make it this one. Ashley Loren is unbelievably talented)

Music Man (though I believe this closes in January?)

Saw Funny Girl prior to the casting change and loved it, not sure how it's going with Lea Michele.

I've seen Hamilton twice with almost completely different casts (though not in the past year) and it was outstanding both times.

so damn true. We were there over the summer and went to multiple games and did subway, and Uber'd one time because we were far away from a subway station. It was a 10 mile drive to the field that took damn near a hour and a half. Lets just say the area North of the stadium is one area of the USA I'd like to never visit again. EVER. Felt like I was the coach in Hardball going to hang out with the Kukumbas.

ETA: Some friends of ours after the game decided to skip the subway and UBER back to the hotel. Bad decision as well. As **** as the Subway is, take it.

FYI - For the Statue of Liberty, pedestal tickets sell out about 2-3 months in advance and crown tickets sell out 6-7 months in advance. Get the ticket that includes both SoL and Ellis Island.

Where should one go to buy knock off stuff?

It's been a few years since I've been to NYC. I'll be spending the week of Christmas there. What is your "must have" restaurant. I doesn't need to be fancy.

We are planning to hit Barbuto and Butter while we are in town.

Fun and free way to see the Statue of Liberty is to take the Statin Island ferry. We had good pizza there, then ferried back. Nothing to see At the statue unless you are willing to stand in the world's slowest line to go up.

We were in NYC with a large group of friends and we all did a sunset booze cruise that went by the statue of liberty and cruised around Manhattan. It was the highlight of our trip basically. Alcohol was included as well.
