I'm planning a bachelor party for Tahoe in January. Trying to coordinate it with the first weekend of NFL playoffs. Looking to ski and hit up the casinos. Any recommendations on where to stay? Thanks!

South Lake is where you want to be for a bachelor party. Stay in one of the casinos: Harrahs, Harvey's, Hard Rock, or Montbleu. Or if you'd rather not stay in a casino, then stay at the Heavenly village and walk over to the casinos in the evenings.

You can walk to the Heavenly gondola for skiing from any of those hotels. If you want to ski elsewhere, I'd recommend Kirkwood, but it will be a 20-30 minute drive.

Fly into Reno, and stock up at Costco in Reno or Carson on the way up to the lake.
