Heading out there with two kids for about 5 days in a couple of weeks for a family deal we have to go to. Anything fun to do around there with the kids in our down time? Staying on the east side of downtown somewhere near Charlotte Country Club.

How far away from Charlotte is that?

Lived in the Charlotte area for a few years.

Around Charlotte: Whitewater Center with the kids is super fun. Hiking, kayaking and can white water raft. Olde Mecklenburg is a fun brewery with a big outdoor area. Other fun breweries are Sycamore and Noda. Lake Norman has a ton of water activities.

Just outside of Charlotte: Asheville and Hendersonville were our two favorite mountain towns. We always rented an airbnb and was able to hike/explore the mountains. Downtown Greenville, SC is a blast also.

If you want to get out of Charlotte, Charleston and Savannah were our favorite getaways. About 3-3.5 hours from Charlotte.
