Has anyone been?

Online it says all the bars are closed but hotel bars but you have to be a guest at that particular hotel to drink. On vacation my wife and I like to have drinks all over the island so obviously that sucks.

Plus are casinos open? How easy is the COVID testing prior to going?

Would like to go in June and assume the restrictions aren't going to change.

Thanks, team!

I haven't looked to see if this was updated since I made this - but this is what I had as far as requirements (probably 2 months old).

Aruba Entry Requirements www.aruba.com
  • 1) All visitors must complete the online Embarkation/Disembarkation card process and be approved to enter Aruba.
  • 2) Negative molecular COVID-19 test required
  • 3) Must purchase Aruba visitors insurance
  • 4) You must comply with their mandates, which possibly may include testing upon arrival and quarantine until receive results.
  • 5) Masks required.
  • 6) Must receive a negative COVID test while traveling no greater than 72 hrs prior to return to US.

We are going in August and are hoping that all of this goes away by then, would not be surprised to need some kind of "vaccine passport" though.

Quite a few countries are requiring it. Costa Rica does. Jamaica you actually pay for it when you upload your negative COVID test and fill out their traveler passport.

The 2 easiest countries to travel to right now is Mexico and Dominican Republic.

Yep we were in Cancun for spring break and it couldn't have been any easier. For the negative COVID test to return they didn't even check ID. It took less then 5 minutes and the next day we had our automatic negative result.

The wife never wants to go to The Dom again and I don't want to do Mexico so soon so we're doing aruba.

You need to upload a negative PCR test before you go so we just need to find one that has 24 hr results. And the insurance is $30/person.

Really need Europe to open up. We're looking at three Caribbean trips this year.
