Doing a guys trip to Vegas in May. We'll do some typical stuff on the strip but looking to rent a car and leave the city for one day. Looking for good ideas in the surrounding area.

Dudes, sorry but I've never made it much past the tables / gentlemens clubs / steakhouses / concerts when I'm there on a guys trip.

Because of the Covid, current information about what is open in Vegas is really important right now. I haven't been there in almost 4 months so I'm sure many things have changed.

Valley of Fire State Park is only 45 minutes away if you want some cool hikes

Zion NP is 2 1/2 hours away - leave early, get a couple amazing hikes in and head back or spend the night - amazing stars at night.

Well you don't need a rental to get to Shadow Creek since they pick you up in a limo. Not to mention it's $500 and you have to stay at an MGM property to play.

Sounds like a great time! The course looks beautiful.

Could catch an NHL game while there. I know it's not outside Vegas but not a lot of people have experienced a NHL game.

Zion National Park is only 2.5 hours from the airport. One of my top 3 National Parks.

If going to Zion, book an afternoon canyoneering trip with Zion adventure Company. We do it every time we go out there. It's awesome. It's one of the highlights of all my national park trips.

But that's 5 hours of driving round trip in one day. The same for Death Valley. Both are incredible parks, but leave early as possible to get a full day in.

As mentioned, The rock climbing at red rock is a lot of fun. There's great hiking and scrambling out there too. That's just on the edge of town.

Zion and its not even a contest.
