Driving to check kid out of dorm in NC. We need a place to eat and stretch our legs in Alabama. Most restaurants in TX and LA we passed yesterday seemed like they were trying to keep cash flow going with take out.

Archibald's in Tuscaloosa for pork ribs is excellent - stopped by the day of the bama game last month.

Bright Star in Bessemer - James Beard Foundation American Classic Award - Bessemer is off of I-20 between Bham and Tuscaloosa.
