Things just got real. I'm headed to Vegas end of the week - at least at this point.

Hopefully the Cosmo stays open!

I go to Vegas 2 or 3 times a year. Love it there. And I am no germaphobe, but I start thinking while I am there about the sanitary conditions of the chips, playing cards, standing in a packed crowd in front of the Bellagio fountains. Not a place I will be going to for a few months.

We just left this morning. I've never been so happy to leave a place. And I love Vegas.

Louisiana closed all casinos except those on reservations.

Why is that? What was it like?

Nevada just closed all non essential businesses for 30 days. Casinos included.

I'm somewhat high-risk (Discovered the day after I landed) so I was noticing very damn act of bad hygiene. I needed to be away from the masses.

In the desert southwest now so I feel much more relaxed...except that I probably have to drive home.

When do you all think Vegas will be "open" again?

I was suppose to return home from Vegas on Monday but we pushed our trip to the first weekend of May. I think that trip will probably end up being cancelled as well.

My guess is late April.

In honor of this thread, I got $20 the earliest all Vegas Hotels are open is June.

Vegas is opening up June 4. It's tentative but Governor will make it official on Tuesday.

Been booked at Cosmo for June 7-12 for a month.

I disagree. Certainly the casinos have to "have a plan" and implement some changes for the sake of "safety," and ya there might be some shows that are dark for a bit.

However - what sort of guest do you think will fly to Vegas the first day or first week they open? Certainly nobody that has any reservations about catching the Covid. People that will go to Vegas very early on are not afraid in the least, and will not care one bit about all the nonsense.

All the doomsayers and Karens will stay away.

Im not worried about catching Covid and don't really go to shows.

3 people at a blackjack table, no people crowding around craps, masks on all employees, masks on lots of players, just doesnt sound like an enjoyable time. It doesn't really matter if the people visiting don't care about the nonsense when the casino does care.

Is it better than sitting around the house? of course, but overall the experience seems lame.

Going June 18th - 22nd. Have a reservation at Caesar's and Bellagio right now since MGM hasn't said officially which will open first.

June was our only option to have child care for the year, so it's now or never.

I'm a big craps player, and blackjack. I'm a little disappointed in the table limits and some of the other rules, but I think 6 people at a craps table is enough for a fun game. I guess my wife doesn't like to stand by me while I play anyway - she'd rather be at the pool.

Hoping for a good time. I'm trying to have an open mind but I wish we could just be normal again. Just don't cough on people, keep a little distance, have some common sense, wash your hands, etc.

I heard on VSIN a potential flaw in their testing for a fever as you walk in. It's 105 degrees outside. If you walk from one casino to another, if they scan your forehead...you're probably going to be above 98.6, what then?

I think they have a lot of incentive to relax these rules and move to a "phase 2" ASAP.

It was interesting think about how the operators with shops in Macau have been dealing with this for months already. So they aren't starting completely from scratch.
