What are the chances they halt domestic air travel within the next week? None? Slim? 25%

On a positive note, I'm on a empty plane to Vegas right now. Even better, there seems to be an abundance rig caution as people are wiping down seats and using a ton of hand sanitizer. That should be done on all flights in my eyes.

But...I did see some jackhole with gloves on eating a candy bar. Umm, the germs are on the gloves, the bar is on the gloves, the bar goes in your body. *sigh*

I imagine my flight home from Sacramento will be pretty empty as well. I guess we will find out Sunday morning.

They'll dramatically reduce capacity before it's banned, unless the feds tell them to halt operations.

I dont think states can do anything since its interstate commerce, but im no lawyer. I know the den schedule has been reduced from looking for a few flights. no longer directs to destin for example.

Headed there this week! Might stay an extra day or two since they will likely be much looser with the comps.

I just changed my United flight to Vegas over to Southwest. I'm leaving 3 hours later on Wednesday (return Monday) but the cost went from $460 to $99 roundtrip. When I booked this trip a few months ago it was over $600 on Southwest.

The guy at the Venetian front desk just told me to pick any available room I wanted for an extra $100. I told him it sounded like he said $50 and he said that works too.

Just saw on the news that the Wynn in Vegas is going to be monitoring the temps of guests with thermal cameras. Anyone with a temp of 100.4 or higher will discreetly be asked to leave.

The Wynn was the first casino to stop comping drinks for video poker players at the bar.

I hope the place burns to the ground.

1. Wynn stock goes to $20 like in 2008 crisis
2. Invest
3. Sell stock when it hits $200 a share a few years later
4. Suite at Bellagio or Palazzo to celebrate.

I don't know. No idea how they would manage it.

I couldn't get out of Tahoe so I changed the flight to Wednesday. Snowing like crazy.

Most of the flights I booked today were half full at best
And those were for today or Monday

Its gonna be empty planes next week

Kid is on a Southwest flight right now. There was no B boarding group. Less than one person per row, and the rows in front of and behind him are empty.

Doesn't sound like a travel ban is going to be necessary.

Miami and Fort Lauderdale closed many of the beaches. They are also making the bars/clubs in the entertainment district close at 11:00.

I paid $630 for 4 round trips to houston from denver on easter weekend.

I'm so pissed right now, because those same flights are $45/ea. All the policies are just flight credit to rebook in the near future.. yeh we're not going to visit family for easter again within 90 days!

i just canceled two flights. both were credits and neither has a 90 day restriction. JetBlue and AA.

we canceled bc it was a march madness trip. after the tourney was canceled, we figured we'd still go. Then once bars/restaurants started shutting down, we called it.

I'm in a similar boat. Made the final payment on a Nat Geo trip to Alaska on March 5, before the SHTF. Had already purchased flights to Seattle, Anchorage, Fairbanks, and back to IAH from Anchorage. Three different airlines, purchased with a combination of points and money.

I had to quit looking at the price changes. All I can do is sit and wait. Either we go, or everything will be cancelled.

I thought the airlines were saying credits were good up to your original booking date (meaning, if you purchased the tickets in Jan 2020, you have until Jan 2021 to rebook...?)

United you have 12 months from book date to rebook. Frontier is 90 days to rebook from cancellation date. This easter trip was United there, frontier back.

Right now I'm considering just booking the whole trip on SW (only 4k points per person round trip), then at some point cancel the united/frontier flights and use the $630 travel credit to maybe visit my bro in CA this summer. This way, if those SW are half as much in another 2 weeks, I can at least get the credit back.

Even though there is no official travel ban, for every week that we shouldn't be traveling, the airlines should extend that credit date. There is no way the airlines are going to be able to accommodate everyone's rebooking, especially if they cut back on flights like they say they are.

Why not rebuy the tickets for $45 and take the vouchers for the $630 and use those next year when prices are back up?
