Howdy y'all

I'm working out here in West Texas close to Pecos. I'm looking for a recommendation for a ski resort in NM that I could go to for 1-2 nights and 1 day.

I've got a ski trip during Spring Break to California. I'd like to find somewhere that I could make a "quick" drive and fit in a snowboard lesson.

Obviously, Ruiodoso is closest. Angel Fire/Taos/Red River are a lot more driving, but more consistent snow.

Other than Ruidoso probably Santa Fe will be the shortest drive. Another option you might want to consider is drive to Midland/Odessa and hop a plane to Denver.

Taos. Worth the drive and fantastic skiing.

So for lessons, which resort would you go to? I've never snowboarded, which is what most of my friends will be doing on our Spring Break trip

Taos- most expensive, full day
Santa Fe- moderate, only 2 hour
Sipapu- cheapest, full day

Taos has consistently had one of the top schools in the nation. That being said, Ski Apache will adequately prepare you for your trip with 4 hours less driving and cheaper accommodations.
