I will be traveling to Panama City for work this weekend. While I won't have a lot of free time, I will likely have a couple of evenings to get out of the hotel and explore. Any advice for good neighborhoods to visit and have dinner/drinks? I'm staying at the Sheraton Grand Panama, so something somewhat near to that area would be nice.

TX - I was in Panama City about five years ago - don't remember all the places, but be sure to visit old town. Lots to see there. The current skyline looks like Las Vegas with new high rises all along the waterfront. Go down to one of the canal locks - it is quite amazing.

If you can, go to Miraflores locks and watch the ships pass through. There used to be a pretty nice restaurant there with big glass windows so you could see everything while you eat.
