So headed to Carmel this summer and obviously want to play Pebble Beach, however, if you are not staying at the resort you can only book a tee time 24 hours in advance. I obviously want to hedge my bets and secure a time at one of the other area courses in the event PB is a no go.

Does anyone have experience or recommendations with any of them. Ie, Spanish Bay, Spyglass, Quail Lodge, Black Horse, ect ect.??

I played a municipal course there, Pacific Grove. It's not the quality of the big name purses on the peninsula but you get to play along the coastline at a very reasonable rate. Fun track.

Really enjoyed Spanish Bay. Spyglass is also a great track, but I found it pretty difficult.

You should cross post in the golf forum. I think several folks recommended pacific grove on there in the past. I believe the back 9 runs along the coast. The front is relatively bland.
