Have a 3 and5 year old that are itching to see snow... what is the closest current snow from Central Texas?

I know long shot and probably too far, but just curious...

TIA!

My guess is Red River and Angel Fire. Was just near Santa Fe, and nothing there. I could see snow on Wheeler Peak, behind Red River, I don't know how far down it extends. And I saw a news story showing heavy snow falling in Angel Fire. I have no idea if it's still there.

When I was a 3 year old living in Puerto Rico, snow was the furthest thing from my mind.
But, by age 5, I lived in the snowiest city in the USA - Valdez, Alaska.

In all seriousness, Northern NM and Colorado are good but, I'd wait a year or two and take them to Alaska.

I believe west texas got snow last night (just west of Pecos on I20). I guess you could head west on I20 or I10 and see a little snow. Don't know how long it will last though.

quite bit of snow on the ground still in College Station this morning.

I'm pretty sure as soon as the flurries started, I heard 5 ambulances and firetrucks turn their sirens on.

Lots of snow men around town today. Lots of drunk (and likely sick) college students. The ones on my street were making snow angels in the road, building snow men, having snow ball fights, and one innovated kid was attempting to make an alcoholic slushie with snow.
