Our family will soon be there for 2 weeks. Any suggestions? Do's and don'ts? Thanks in advance!

Food....
Any where you can find empanadas. Try different flavors and both fried and baked. Milanesa and pure de papas (thin chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes). Choripan off the carts around town (chorizo sausage on bread). Meat....asado. There is a all you can eat asado place called Siga La Vaca. You can try all the cuts. Basically a cheaper version of Texas de Brazil. Buenos Aires has good pasta and Italian as well.

I almost forgot....their ice cream is incredible. Especially anything with dulce de leche. Go To the nicer more expensive places and it is worth it. I like Freddos, but just google it an see what is near you with good ratings. They also deliver ice cream if you want a midnight snack. That is one of the best things about Argentina. They deliver ice cream to your front door!

Places to visit....
The recoleta cemetery to visit evitas grave. It is a very cool cemetery with awesome architecture.

The Japanese gardens is very nice and peaceful in the middle of town.

Boca is very fun to visit and walk by the soccer stadium. Lots of tango and souvenirs.

Take a train from BA up to Tigre and go to puerto de frutas. Very cool way to see the city from train and then check out the fruit market with lots of argentine souvenirs. Also there is a casino up there.

Florida street is fun to walk through and check out the fancier shops. Big crowds but fun to visit for a short bit.

If you want a super exciting adventure, take one of the Colectivos (buses) to get somewhere in the city. A bit scary the way they squeeze those buses through the tiny spaces, but fun and cheap. Also the subway is a cheap and safe way to travel. They have a couple old subways that are really cool to ride on.

Tour of Teatro colon. It's an old opera house.

Casa rosada. Pink house is their White House.

As someone who lived there for a few years, these are my recommendations. I love that place.
