I need to book travel between Boston and NYC for my family of four for 1st week of July. I had planned on train travel, but it's either really expensive or at really inconvenient times. Travel by bus takes about the same amoun t of time and is crazy cheap. I've never traveled by public bus in the US.

Anyone with experience traveling this route by bus? Suggestions?

I have not done it but know quite a few people who have with Megabus and it was fine. Amtrak generally sucks up here. Just be careful of the traffic through Connecticut in terms of when you're leaving / arriving in NY.
