Every year for awhile now, me and two buddies from A&M who both now live out of state meet up at a different destination for an annual dude's trip.

Time to start planning for this year, and we're stumped. We've done Vegas, Chicago, Memphis, Nashville, St. Louis & a couple of A&M away games.

We don't golf or hunt/fish, so that rules some locations out. Any suggestions?

I would think the Rose Bowl would be an option if previous Aggie games have been done. I would also second New Orleans as a previous poster mentioned

Denver might be an option if outdoor oriented and then you got maybe Miami and key west also

The key is when do you go on this trip? Do you like other sports? In the spring/summer if you are a baseball fan you can do the stadium tour thing. For example catch a Yankee game and a few days in NYC and then train for a few days to Boston for Red Sox. Another is do the LA/San Diego or the DC/Baltimore thing and catch games.

If you go to out of town Aggie games I would think that LA to see A&M/UCLA or going to Gainesville for the Florida game would be good.

Like some other stated New Orleans, maybe Denver and head to the mountains to ski or white water raft in summer, hell even rent a boat on Lake Travis and then hit up Austin, float the rivers here in Texas since 2 don't live here anymore.

The UCLA game is going to be my "bud trip" this year (I'm 40 though).

What do you do? Museums? Beer? Wine? Mountain biking? History?

Montreal has come up 2 or 3 times. Why? What's the deal there?

Yeah, one guy is pushing hard for New Orelans. We love drinking & live music (hence Memphis & Nashville previously), but the one time I went to NO I found it to be utter trash (the Bourbon Street experience - no desire to repeat). Did I miss something?

Tahoe has come up. Gambling is good.

Someone asked what we like - drinking, live music, seeing famous sh^t. Haven't done the 'adventure' thing yet (rafting/hiking/whatever). Not out of the question. Considered a 'City Slicker' dude ranch type experience.

Oh, and time of year is open, but usually fall.

Rose Bowl is our back-up plan, but meh.

New Orleans is great, although we avoid Bourbon St like the plague. Old Montreal reminds me alot of the French Quarter but much cleaner. We went in June and the weather was awesome.

Cabo is a good time even if you don't fish. I've been to Cabo once and just now am kicking myself in the ass for not fishing, and I'm not a big fisherman.

Left Montreal yesterday on the train to Quebec. 3 hours for 75$. Montreal had great food, beer and a great transport. 10$ day pass for unlimited travel. So far I prefer Quebec as it is more condensed and architecturally prettier. They are more militant about their French which is ok.

Good suggestion.

Stay at a casino at South Lake. Do a day trip to raft the American River (find an outfitter near Coloma, CA). Limitless options for short day-hikes with amazing views of the lake and the mountains (late summer, early fall would be best to avoid the large snow pack). Do a beach day. Decent nightlife at the Heavenly village, and obviously gambling.

Kansas City

Puerto Vallerta

Scottsdale Arizona

Washington DC

Portland Oregon

Punta Cana

Toronto

These are all easy to get to, and cheap. Kansas City on the sneak is pretty legit. If you did a St Louis and a Memphis...then Kansas City beats both of those places badly. The BBQ is considerably better.
