I live in the southern burbs of Houston and need a room in the Woodlands this weekend. I have already thrown out some pretty low-ball bids on Priceline for the higher rated hotels but haven't had any luck yet. From what I can tell there are not any major events or concerts in The Woodlands this weekend so I don't think I will have a problem booking something last minute. FWIW, there are 15 hotels rated 3 stars or higher on Priceline for The Woodlands zone.

I have identified all the other zones in the Houston area that do not have any 4, 3.5, or 3 star hotels so that I can easily rebid.

Planning to sign in on Priceline Saturday morning and start bidding until I get something. Any other methods that are better? I keep hearing ads on Pandora for that Hotel Tonight app but haven't used it yet, any good?

I almost book everything on Hotwire. I hate bidding and I've always had good luck/value with Hotwire.

Just pick one that is reviewed well liked by reviewers.

Only option I'd choose is for $113 there is a 3 star with 100% liked.

Pricier than I would have expected...
