My wife needs to renew her passport, and her current one is under her maiden name. The renewal paperwork asks for a marriage certificate to confirm the name change due to marriage.

I have certified copies of our marriage license, but not a marriage certificate.

Anyone here renewed a passport with a name change due to marriage in Texas? If so, what documentation did you submit? If I need a marriage certificate, how do I get one?

Has she changed her name on her driver's license? It requests a marriage certificate for that as well.

I did this just a few months ago. There is a renewal passport form online (you can fill it out online witty het new name then print), include the old passport, certified marriage certif, pictures and payment

certified copy of your marriage license = certified marriage certificate. It was actually pretty easy once you drop everything in the mail

Sounds like the certified marriage license we already have will suffice.
