Wife and I will be spending Christmas in Scotland. Likely will spend Christmas eve and day in Edinburgh. Any suggestions for Christmas there or better suggestions in Scotland/northern England besides Edinburghinstead? Thanks!
Edinburgh is probably your best bet. Keep in mind that in Scotland Christmas wasn't even a national holiday until the mid-20th century (Scotch Calvinist background and all) so New Years or Hogmanay is the big event of mid-winter.
But still an awesome city to be in any time of year and lots of good whisky and pubs.
