Anyone ever done this? Tips, suggestions, reviews? Sounds like an awesome time for a basketball fan.

Yes. It's a do - it-once type thing. All in all a terrible time to be in Vegas.

The books will all be very busy. The first two days of the tournament (not the play-in games) is a really, really fun time to be in Vegas if you're even remotely a hoops fan.

West gate. Thursday and Friday of opening rounds. It's awesome and a annual tradition for me

Casinos open ballrooms with stadium seating theaters and some places have remote touch screen live betting. Sports books are too packed so casinos are getting smart by setting these stadiums style watching up

Me and some friends went last year and it was awesome. The flights can get a little pricey but we took allegiant out of Austin and it wasn't too bad.

Most of the strip casinos will charge to watch the games but we went to the Gold Coast (a little off strip near Rio) and they had a ballroom dedicated to the tourney with no admission fee and free drink tickets with a 20 dollar bet. They also have 1 dollar hot dogs and other cheap food available while you are watching.

I go to Vegas almost every year and this was by far the most fun I had there. Actually won quite a bit of money betting games but of course that is not typical.

Also if you play table games the Gold Coast casino always has 5 dollar black jack and 5 dollar craps to play at all times of the day and night.

Watch party at the. West gate is good. Plenty of seating and a huge sports book.

If you want something more high-end/luxury, some of the strip casinos have events where you pay for an open bar/buffet and watch the games. All the sports books are packed. Planet Hollywood has some event that might be free, I'm not sure.

Place your bets the night before or early the day of the games if possible. Lines to place the bets get to be very long. Some of the places have some kind of online betting app (I don't know much about but will try it next time).

Did this back in college for spring break. Really fun time. Great if you sports bet and play poker since tons of people will be in town. Place bets early as people have said the lines the day of are super long.

I've got a buddy of mine who went to Florida State. He goes out there every year to "bet the tournament". I strongly suspect his annual guys trip to Vegas has very little to do with basketball. But, it sounds like he has a great time.

I go with a group that does it annually (this will be the 22nd year...I've gone the last 5). Gold Coast is a great option. My suggestion is off the strip at green valley. No line at the sports book, clean. We rent a car and drive wherever we feel like watching games if we don't want to watch there. And the blackjack odds are some of the best in town.

Stayed on the strip once and it was awful. Not worth it during MM.
