Do these exist? Thinking about going for one day.

I looked into this last year, and the short answer is you can get a ticket but not at a discount. The MK one-day tickets are by far the most expensive, and even Undercover Tourist doesn't discount them (IIRC, UT actually charges more for this ticket than Disney does). When I looked last year, the one-day MK ticket was just over $100.

We went last year just before Thanksgiving and wound up buying a ticket to the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. For about $70-$75 a ticket, we were let in the park at 4pm and it stays open until midnight. Since this is a ticketed event, all of the guests without a ticket to the party are escorted out by 7 pm. We rode all of our favorites with little to no wait. Even rode Splash Mtn twice in a row without getting out of the log. There was also a special holiday-themed fireworks show and a parade (and charachter meet and greets, but we skipped those).

Depending on when you are going, you might be able to snag the cheaper party tickets (they have Halloween parties through Oct, and Christmas parties in Nov and Dec).

I have never done it but there are a bunch of ticket shops just outside of the park in Kissimmee or lake buena vista that advertise buying and selling unused tickets.

The unused ticket thing is a scam from what I understand.

And rather sure they answer is no

I found the info for the Halloween party but it said "ride select attractions" so I am guessing that not all rides are operating. Did you notice that when you were there for the xmas party? Another disclaimer that I see is:
Please note: Theme park admission is not included in the event price.

I read as if you enter the park during regular hours (9-7) that day, you pay the $110. If you want to stay till midnight you would need to pay an additional $75 for the "party". If you want to go to the party only you would enter at 7 pm & pay $75. I don't see anything about entering as early as 4. Maybe I am missing something.

You are correct about some attractions being closed, but almost all are open.

I can confirm that 4:00 is when the start letting people in that just have the party ticket.

Link to good info on the attractions open:

Entering at 4 pm is not advertised, but it is common knowledge, so no worries there. There are plenty of reputable sources out there that say you will be let in at 4, just as we were. You will also be able to book Fastpasses between 4 pm and 7 pm up to 30 days before the party once you have your party ticket linked to a My Disney Experience account.

The short of it is, Disney doesn't want huge lines of people all waiting to enter the party at 7, so they start letting people in at 4.l in order to manage the crowds. Everyone without a party ticket must leave by 7. They give party people a wrist band, and come 7, if you can't display your wrist band, cast members will literally escort you out. So, there is a 3 hour window where party and non-party guests overlap.

AFAIK, everything was open at the party we attended. We rode Seven Dwarves Mine Train, Jungle Book and Splash Mtn with Fastpasses, then we picked up Pirates, Splash Mtn (multiple rides), Big Thunder Mtn (multiple times), Haunted Mansion, Little Mermaid, Tiki Room, and It's a Small World on our own. We also watched the fireworks and parade. I'm thinking it's possible that some of the show-type attractions might be closed for the party, but I'm not sure. We didn't see anything that was closed.

We were not disappointed at all, especially for the price point. Crowds were heavier than I expected between 4-7, but they really thinned out after 7.

Little known fact-they will start selling the limited edition merchandise at 4pm also.

I would personally only buy MNSSHP tickets from Disney.

We did the Christmas party back in 2013. We were in MK the entire day of the party. Once the park cleared of non-party guests, it was slightly less crowded but all the attractions were operating. We were able to ride Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain multiple times that night. We were in the park until midnight, ignored the parade and fireworks, and felt like we had crammed two days of MK into one.

We have one free day (& a possible 1/2 day) while in Orlando so we are thinking about going to MK on Tues 10/27. There is a Halloween party that night so I need to figure out what we are going to do. I have been to DW a few times when my kids were young. Is there anything else I should consider doing for that day besides MK? Thanks for all the help!

Our trip last year was primarily a Harry Potter Pilgrimage. We spent three days at Universal because my son had been asking to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for a long time. I was blown away by the HP parks, but I don't think one day does them justice. But if you are an HP fan and won't be back to the area anytime soon, it might be worth considering.

We also took a day to drive over to Kennedy Space Center and see the new Atlantis exhibit. It was absolutely fantastic, but it is about an hour drive each way.
