A day after pissing off the Yakuza, Ohtani lines into a triple play.

Dalton Rushing's attempt to get back to first base is the greatest symphony of human athleticism you'll ever see.

Lineup sucked today. Trammell and Melton while Chaz and Cam are actually heating up.

Bullpen sucks. Can't believe they didn't trade for a proven leverage arm.

Proven leverage arm wasn't going to change anything tonight. 1 ****ing run won't win many games.

Hope to get that stank out of our system by tomorrow. We'll be there to watch HB - he may have to pitch a complete game with our current bullpen situation.

Look…. They could have, Maton was available. (Just one example). That doesn't mean there werent others, there were. We chose not to make a move,

For the record, I think they wanted to roll the dice on the dudes coming back. I think they envision a few of them in the bull pen short term.

I dont think I can ever remember a season with such emotional swings day to day. Honestly, this season has been more exhausting than anything. I can only imagine the players are feeling that as well.

and it's unprecedented in the golden era of Astros baseball

blowing a 7-game division lead

for the F'ing love of god, please quit saying this………

4 starters from Opening day are not in this lineup….. 6 pitchers out. Closer out…….

this isn't a team "blowing a lead"…. Wanna blame somebody? Blame the 7-8 players from Sugar Land that kept us in it….. this is not a blown lead. My god, 2/3 of this team has been on the. DL……. Saying that we blew anything is a disgrace,

Just keep winning series. 2/3 or 3/4.

It just sucks that the mariners are seemingly not losing at all and are feasting on bad teams. Meanwhile, we have a tendency to **** the bed against teams we should win against.

Yep. Made it through the first 100 games this year with the makeshift pitching staff turning in an elite performance. Wasn't until Pena, Paredes, and Meyers went out that the wheels really started to come off a little. Still, right in the middle of things postseason wise, and players are starting to return, in addition to a good deadline by Dana and Crane.

I understand the average fan not realizing the extent of the injuries but some here are downright delusional

Sox arent pushovers - they've taken 4 of 5 from the 'stros in the past couple of weeks and are ahead of the Yankees in one of the two playoff spots in the American.

They reeled off 10 wins in a row prior to the all-star break. Not exactly schlubs.

We need ace hunter brown tonight in a big way

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Mariners in a 9-1 run while Astros are 5-5. Need some help from the Os, Mets, phils in the next week or so

Also just need Houston to win series.

Mariners are not going to stay this hot. They've been scorching since the ASB. We've played. 500 ball. That's not great, but regression for Seattle is coming up.

We just need to keep winning series.

The Tigers are 2-4 against the Pirates
The Dodgers are 0-5 against the Angels
The Blue Jays lost three straight to Baltimore and got outscored 30-10.

There are no great teams out there, just a lot of good ones. The main goal now should be to try to get as high of a seed for the playoffs and by all means get healthy.

If the Astros wanted to only focus on being the best team in August, they wouldn't bother starting Arighetti or Javier or LMJ at all, because they have no idea what those guys are going to give them; but they have to take a risk on putting them out there to see who is reliable in October.

Main goal is think is avoid the wild card.

one unfortunate thing...

Seattle is already done playing the Red Sox, Yankees, Blue Jays, and Tigers

so if the post-break Mariners are the real deal...the Astros won't get any secondary or residual help from the M's hot streak

if you have to be a wildcard...better to be the 4-seed than the 5 or 6

Seattle isn't winning out. They will lose more games.

We just need to lose less games than they do.

Seattle's last 20 games (throwing in Baltimore through tomorrow)

Angels
Athletics
Rangers
White Sox
Rays
Orioles

Seattle's next 15 starting Friday
@ Mets
@ Phillies
Athletics
Padres
@ Guardians

About to find out who they really are post-ASB. Meanwhile, we got Orioles-Tigers-Orioles-Rockies-Angels in that same span.

Just win 2/3 in every series against good teams and sweep the bad ones.

It's that simple.

Seattle's since the ASB (throwing in Baltimore through tomorrow)

Astros (buyers -- but not at the time an major injuries)
@Angels (buyers -- but shouldn't have been)
@Athletics (sellers)
Rangers (buyers -- but shouldn't have been) Home
White Sox (sellers) Home
Rays (sellers) Home
@Orioles (sellers) Away

Seattle's next 15 starting Friday
@ Mets (buyers)
@ Phillies (buyers)
Athletics (sellers)
Padres (buyers)
@ Guardians (sold a bit -- but since July 6th, they've cut the Tigers lead from 15 1/2 to 5 1/2)

For the injured list -- they've been without Victor Robles, Bryce Miller, Trent Thorton and Ryan Bliss for a good chunk on the season. They've have a few minor injuries, but have stayed relatively healthy. I would contend the only eventful losses are Robles and Miller. And even there -- Robles is the equivalent of Chas.

About to find out who they really are post-ASB. Meanwhile, we got Orioles-Tigers-Orioles-Rockies-Angels in that same span.

For the Astros
@Seattle (buyers)
@DBacks (sellers)
Athletics (sellers)
Nationals (sellers)
@ Red Sox (buyers and hot)
@Marlins (sellers -- were hot at the time)
@Yankees (buyers)
Red Sox

Next 15:
Orioles (sellers)
@Tigers (buyers)
@ Orioles (sellers)
Rockies (sellers)
Angels (buyers -- should have been sellers)

For injured list -- I don't need to go into that. We all know where we are with that.

Seattle has had good health this year, and they haven't been without many main pieces. We've had patchwork pitching for a lot of the year -- no Yordan, no Pena, no Paredes and Walker missed time.

This is spot-on. Thanks for the share.

There have been seasons where we have just WISHED to be in this position. I think of the years between 86 and 98 where each season was a struggle -- or 2006-2015. I'm too young to remember the struggles of the 70s.

The last 11 seasons --- 11! including this one --- have been a great, great ride. And though we are facing adversity -- it's not over yet.
