The Mariners recent streak might go down as the luckiest stretch of baseball ever. In their 9-1 run, they have won 5 games by one run. Their big dumpster stud is hitting a whopping .125 during this stretch and has almost 4 times as many K's (19) as he has hits (5). Somehow, his 5 hits have resulted in 10 RBI - he has two 3-run HR and one 2-run HR during this stretch.
No way they can continue to win like this.

We are supposed to act like it is Game 7 of the WS every day for two and a half months?

Days off are necessary. Can't worry too much about the standings. The season doesn't end tomorrow. Part of winning as many games as possible over the stretch will be keeping guys fresh.

Chandler talked about it on his most recent podcast. Granted this was before Hader got hurt, but he said he had checked with enough people on both sides to know that, at that time, there was no interest at all from either side in a reunion.
