Am I the only one who feels like this should be the 7th or 8th inning?
Two reasons they don't allow it before the bag:
1. It influences the base runners too much. You'd just be guessing on where to put them.
2. The bounding ball over the bag would need something like Hawkeye from Tennis, as it's a very 3 dimensional play, unless you have a camera directly over the bag.
