Losing Gilbert stings, but again, the organization is higher on Clifford and they're very high on Baez as well. There's lots of outfield depth. I think the fanbase overvalues Gilbert just a tad.

Don't get me wrong- the dude could turn out to be an all star. But he's far from a sure thing.

I think he's a leader in more of a vibes/professionalism way than actually trying to be one.

I was kind of ready to see how Gilbert develops for Houston, but I'm am perfectly happy to have a bulldog solidify the rotation. I agree with a poster above, that more than "leadership" JVs professional mentality should rub off on a couple pitchers.
