You could blame Dusty for a lot of reasons this team is still struggling at .500. Including Abreu's slow start - should've put him at 6th or 7th in the lineup, let him figure some stuff out, but no he keeps him at high pressure cleanup spot night after night. Not doing Abreu or the team any favors.

Bregman and abreu are absolutely killing this offense. Jose and mike will be big but what you do with alex and abreu? Only option to hope they figure it out?

The goal needs to be to win as many games possible and not be content with being .500
Goal expectation whatever.
Any team losing Altuve and Brantley is not going to be as good as they are with them.
And pitching is fine. We gave up a total of 3 runs today. That should be good enough.

I'm not angry. Honestly it's not surprising at all. The run this team has had over the last 7 years has been unreal. To think they can sustain it every year is unimaginable.
Especially with less games against divisional opponents the road to the World Series got a lot tougher.
Hopefully when Mike and Altuve return they can help, but Mike is getting up there in age and his drop off will start sooner rather than later. I'm hoping he still has some good ball left in him and can help this struggling offense.

It's clear that in its present form and function, this team is not very good. Ok we are missing Altuve and Brantley. Who knows what Brantley will do. Those two guys alone won't save this team. Something's gotta change.
Well, our number 2 and 4 hitters have ops' of 0.643 and 0.534 respectively, well below league average and over 200 points below their career averages. That is what needs to change. Players have these types of months all the time. I'm still just shrugging it off, but yeah that needs to improve. When Tuve and Mike return we will still probably have glaring holes in the 3/5 spot until they get their crap together.
It will be interesting to see how much Brantley will add over Julks, who has been holding his own. Brantley's track record suggests he'll be on base quite a bit in front of Yordan, assuming he goes in the 2 spot. Unfortunately, that likely means Tucker gets pushed to 6th, which would be criminal.
Altuve adds more pop to the lineup, but it's not like Dubon had been awful. As long as Abreu continues to do nothing in the middle of the lineup, not to mention Bregman, I forsee continued frustration from the offense.

Yeah. I would almost like to see Tucker get moved to the one spot and have Brantley hitting 5. I have no faith regular season Dusty will do that though.

It's a complete disservice to have Tuck batting where he currently is. Him and yordan need to be b2b in the three and four hole.

Just spit balling but seems like he has gotten slightly worse each year since 2019. Maybe not. He is still a good hitter imo
Yes. He's been pedestrian the last 4 years with some high months but with some garbage months as well. It averages out to, well, a little better than average. Maybe?
2019 is the exception. Yes, he does some things well, elite even, but apparently the idea of moving him down in the lineup is as offensive as pinch hitting for Barry Bonds (to some)

He started off pretty slow last year, but that was mostly just average. His ops was still respectable. It's a bad month no doubt, it happens.
