It's kind of funny to think back to this board 10 years ago and how much the idea of a universal DH was loathed here. Most considered themselves traditionalists/purists. That's because we all grew up watching the NL but the DH has been a good change. I'd rather watch Yordan bat than JV any day.tjack16 said:

I don't like the universal DH in a sense that it creates different strategies and styles of play across the two leagues. I like the decisions a manager has to make without the DH.

These stats are horrendous
I liked the idea of tying the DH to the starting pitcher so you lose the DH when the starter is pulled. Leaves the manager batting/double switch decisions in place late in the game, DH still has a role, and would be a major downside for the use of openers.
Yeah not so much about tough decisions but just about different strategy.
It also trickles down to sac bunts, double switches, etc etc.
Just a different style of play that while I don't prefer it to the AL it's cool to have the difference across the leagues.
