At the deadline. Trade Odorizzi to an NL team that might be a buyer (Braves, Cubs, giants, etc) Unload some salary money and maybe pick up a decent prospect

I think for this season we are good with LMJ, Greinke, Valdez, Garcia and Urquidy as our rotation. I don't think Odorizzi would fit into the postseason rotation with everybody healthy. Also next year we will be fine without Odorizzi as well and will need some of that salary for a potential Correa deal

Interesting observation, if I read the schedule correctly- this is the 5th 4-game series so far this year. Astros have won the first three games in all of them. They finished off the A's and Rangers but dropped the last game against the Angels and Mariners.

Not sure what to make of that, but it sure would be nice to come back and take this sweep.

For the record I meant to type this this morning when I was catching up from the last 2 days on the thread and y'all were discussing trading a starter. Would the Mets be interested possibly for Jake from rake farm

I think we could get a middle tier prospect that may have future value. I think the biggest benefit is it frees up money that we might need elsewhere this offseason.

That being said if he's on the roster going into next year I won't be upset. But if you were to make some moves, unloading him might not be a bad option. There are going to be a ton of teams that are buyers looking for a 3-4 starter. Especially in the NL where all of those divisions will be tight late in September

Wonder if he'd be any better if moved to the pen?

Perez might get this game done in under 80 pitches. Fairly crappy effort so far.

Altuve took the throw really early to throw it back. He almost goofed with a high throw in return.

Is 50 more pitches than the other team through 3 innings good or nah?
