That's what I get for being greedy

I cant Imagine the emotion farmer was just feeling at that foul ball
Can you imagine the exit velo off the 94 heater? I'm surprised his shin didn't explode.
Exactly, that TB run last year had that "team of destiny" type of feel to it. Renfroe made some incredible catches in that series.Farmer1906 said:
Where the hell was this Renfroe last postseason? Wasn't he making some ridiculously good catches in the ALCS? He looks like doodoo out there tonight.
Astros are 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position (Alvarez bases-loaded dribbler in 7th), but have scored on a bases-loaded walk, sac fly, throwing error and a leadoff homer.

So Farmer I'm typical Farmer fashion posted some advanced metrics like FIP and xFIP that convinced me that Raley isn't so bad.
I've flipped. He's not awful.
Not awful. I agree.
Don't mistake him for a high leverage closer type.
Would he have gotten any innings at all on the 100 win teams?

Tony freakin Sipp? We traded for Clippard and he sucked balls? Guduan made 22 appearances in '17. Member everyone's favorite whipping boy Cy Sneed? Funny man Biagini? Framber Valdez before he became Framber Valdez? Devo and Giles when they forgot how to pitch?
Jose Altuve has 17 home runs on elevated fastballs since the 2019 season -- 2nd most in MLB

Every pitcher you mentioned there was very good at some point. Some of the ones we traded for were never good for us, but there's a reason we traded for them.
Even Sipp had not just good but amazing seasons. Many of those guys fluctuated but all had high points where they were outstanding.
Framber was good from day one. He didn't have all the advanced metrics you love but he got the job done.
The main difference is none of those guys when they were sucking got to pitch 70 games for us.
Greinke is done as an Astro... If JV wants to come back you can't say no to that as long as the years and money is right for an almost 40 year old coming of TJW said:
thinking about the starting rotation long term...
Luis' emergence is going to allow the 'stros to be stingy with JV and Greinke in the offseason.
perhaps very stingy
We have LMJ, Valdez, Javier, Urquidy & Garcia all locked up for several years. 4/5 very cheaply. Odo will be back next year. That is a very solid 6 man rotation assuming the young guys continue to develop. This should mean we shouldn't be cheap when finding a new or keeping a short stop.W said:
