That game was a total garbage effort of pitching...Javier can't be giving up HRs at that pace and the BP walking every other batter.

The A's, once again have a horseshoe fall out of their ass late.

Spot on but it was only 3

The runner went to 3b in the 9th because the shift was on and no one was covering 3rd.

Straw had no one to throw it to. He beat Correa in a foot race.

CF is a GM issue more than a Dusty issue.

The GM also failed to get the needed bullpen help.

I would call the As lucky, but we gave them so many free baserunners.

That one was unfortunate. Bregman doesn't dive and hustles back to 3rd, Canha is probably still on second.

Still, love the effort to try turn two and expect nothing less.

Nobody in their lineup scares me at all. They're a roster full of sub-.250 AVG and sub-.800 OPS hitters. Canha is their 2nd best hitter with an OPS of .809...

Oakland's team ERA is in the bottom half of baseball. Their bullpen ERA is bottom half of baseball. They've made 19 errors in the past 21 games and are in the bottom half of baseball in fielding.

They win a bunch of 1-run games just like the Rangers did 5 years ago and they got exposed in the playoffs. What happens every year Oakland makes the playoffs? The Stros worked them last season in the postseason and should've swept them.

Astros are better in every single statistical category average, slugging, OPS, starting pitching, bullpen pitching, fielding, etc.

That's why I think the A's are not a good team

Just too many GD walks really. The As cashed in on the opportunities.

Walks in late innings are killer.

As will fade and we'll win a bunch of games but if the BP isn't fixed we won't go anywhere.

At this point you're not even looking for someone to play CF. Tucker can move over and the call up can play right or have Chas play Center. Straws garbage arm, horrendous defense and inability to intimidate any major league pitcher, less Jamie Hoyer when he was like 46, is not the answer.

Y'all are fixating way too much on Straws arm

His defense and hitting is where you should focus the hate

Wake up to see the As magic horseshoe still works in close games. Also see Laureano still turns into Mike Trout vs the Astros.

I don't think we are fixated on his arm. It's just a symptom of what he is: a AAAA player.

It's painfully obvious he is not the answer in CF.

He is patient at the plate, but he has no pop.

He can't bunt, and he's not great at stealing bags, so guys speed is virtually worthless.

He takes awful routes to balls in the outfield.

I said it last night: his performance at the plate does not make up for the fact he is a defensive liability.

He is a one tool player.

I also found it funny how Blum and Kalas made mention that his sprint speed is third fastest on the team behind Chas and ALtuve

Chas currently leads the team. Straw is 2nd to Altuve in "Bolts" which is competitive runs >30 ft/s. Chas has none. What that tells me is Chas runs as hard as he can every competitive run. He maxes out sub 30. Straw does not always run hard. 2019 Straw was electric though. HP to 1st was sub 4 and about 50% of his competitive runs were bolts. He averaged 30.1! Make me wonder what is the cause. Hurt? lose a step? did he try to bulk? Thinking too much and not just reacting?

Or how about feeling comfortable with his starting gig and not feeling like he needs to battle for PT.

I haven't really kept up with anyone besides the Astros as we have a 5 month old at home and I started a new job, but seems like a soap opera over there.

Maybe, but he's not dumb (I don't think). How many big leaguers last long with a sub .600 OPS?

Speaking have OPS, TED is climbing towards that nice .800 mark. He's only 23 points behind Altuve and 26 behind Brantley.

I was more thinking a decline in HP to 1B is more reflected in ground outs and singles and maybe he's not absolutely busting it on those plays thinking that there's no threat of a demotion.

I assume he's still busting it to 2B on doubles but it's the ground outs and singles where the decline is.

And its a tool that is the least valuable in the modern day game.

If he was elite at defense and speed like Jake the abysmal offense could be tolerated

IMO, there is one thing worse than a "cheat": The "snitch". I'd like to know what the A's players really think about their "teammate".

No way their owner fires him. IIRC, that's who hired him without the GM's involvement. He's gonna turn that clubhouse into a toxic waste dump.

Interesting, swing at pitches in the zone and good things happen... Tucker is a prime example of that
