Amazing what some deep outings by the starters (and Kent) did for the BP.

Both Abreu and Stanek looked to have some extra juice and looked fresh.

Hoping we don't have to overuse him and can keep him fresh. Get these starters going 6+ most nights and we'll be fine. LMJ and Urquidy going 6+ innings - I like it.

He started off shaky but he's settled in nicely the last few outings.

I almost feel like Pressly is better when he's used often and getting regular work. Seems like when he goes long stretches without getting work he gets iffy.

Machete deserves all of the criticism for his ABs this year but you're insane if you think someone like Garrett Stubbs would provide equal or more value than him. He is clearly trusted by our pitchers and coaches and that is the main reason he was signed through 2022.

Give him time and he'll get back on track offensively...

What exactly is "back on track" for Maldonado? But I agree he's on the field because of defense and our pitchers like him

Machete hitting .220 the rest of the way would be back on track. He's in a bad slump. But frankly Tucker is in a worse one from the standpoint of real versus expected production. And I'm not talking sabermetric xwBA level but just what we expect him to provide.

We know what we will get from straw and Maldonado at this point. If 1-6 keeps at their current pace and Tucker gets better then it won't matter what the bottom 2 do in the lineup
