I would not put the last out of the 2017 World Series on there because there is no way any other moment could beat it. That's just my two cents.

Throwing a bunch out off the top of my head. Only scratching the surface, of course

Plays:
  • Jake Marisnick ending the Yankees game by throwing whoever it was out at home - 2017
  • Darren Erstad doing the same thing about a decade before - 2008
  • Jeff Kent walking off the Cardinals in the playoffs - 2004
  • Chris Burke walking off the Braves in 18 - 2004
  • Brad Ausmus sending the same Braves game into extras with a home run - 2004
  • Ausmus homers in his final game - 2008
  • Game 5 walkoff - 2017

Milestone Games:
  • Brandon Barnes hits for the cycle (most recent instance) - 2013
  • First World Series game in 2005
  • First game at Enron Field - 2000
  • First game at the Astrodome - 1965
  • Final game at the Astrodome - 1999
  • Berkman reaches home run derby finals (wasn't sure where this counted) - 2004
  • 2017 World Series game 7 (won it all) - 2017
  • 2017 World Series game 5 (big comeback) - 2017
  • 2017 World Series game 2 (first win) - 2017

Trades, etc.
  • Carlos Beltran trade (first time he came here) - 2004
  • Verlander - 2017
  • Randy Johnson - 1998
  • Jeff Bagwell - 1990
  • Trading for Moises Alou - 1998
  • Yordan Alverez gets called up (might be milestone game since he homered) - 2019
  • Miguel Tejada trade - 2008

Off the Field:
  • Bagwell (2017) and Biggio(2015) being elected to the hall of fame
  • Tal's Hill removed (2017)

Fantastic list. I'd add the Greinke trade coming in moments after the deadline much to Jomboy's chagrin and Altuve's walkoff against the Yanks in 2019.

Its hard to imagine some of the huge moments when we had little history of success compared to now.

Jose Vizcaino 2-out basehit in the top of the 9th to tie 2005 World Series Game 2. (Plus slide by Chris Burke to beat the throw at home)

I assume Mike Scott no-hitter to clinch the NL West in 1986 wont get missed, but the 1997 game to clinch the NL Central should also be included, IMO.

The 2 issues that make it difficult to do this are the age of each player and the fact Houston is rebuilding. Yes, we could add some to the pitching staff, but I don't think it would take a player like Bregman to do it.

On the other hand, you would likely get a good return of prospects, and I think it wouldn't be that difficult to find an above average defender to play 3B. What you're really going to have a harder time replacing is Bregman's bat. And of course, it all hinges on being able to also guarantee signing Correa.

In other words, this is a terrible business plan
You might be able to find a 3B. Maybe McNeil and Dominic Smith from the Mets? McNeil can play 3B and Smith in LF then slides to 1B after Yuli leaves. Mets don't need Smith if the NL gets rid of the DH again as rumored. Both under control for several years and making near league minimum.

My top 4 Astros for me personally, (excluding 2017 WS game 7 because that's too obvious)

1. Altuve Game 6 ALCS walkoff
2. Bregman game 5 WS walkoff
3. 2005 NLCS Game 6 final out
4. Biggio 3,000 hit or Burke NLDS walkoff

I only started watching the Astros when I was about 7 that I can remember. My first game was in 1998 when I was 5, and I have the ticket stub but do not remember a thing. So mine are probably different

Another one for the list:

2017 ALCS Game 2.
Correa's double scores Altuve to walk it off. JV pitches 9 innings with 13 Ks, Chapman takes the loss

Random, but one of the biggest WTF moments was Bill Spiers getting jumped by those fans

Trying to recall good brawls. I want to say when Scott Servais was with the Rockies he started one with Bagwell in Enron Field's first year. I was at that game but details are foggy.

Lots of good ones above. 2005 NLDS against the Braves in that 18 inning game is still one of my favorite Astros games to go back and re-watch, and it produced some good moments.
  • Brad Ausmus's 'thread-the-needle' HR that just missed the yellow line, bottom of the 9th, 2 outs
  • Roger Clemens comes in as a Pinch Hitter and then stays in to pitch three scoreless relief innings
  • Chris Burke HR to win the NLDS

We've come a long way since then, but at the time, those were some really epic moments in Astros history.

As an aside, that has to be one of the worst-hitting everyday lineups to ever make the World Series...

C - Ausmus
1B - Berkman
2B - Biggio
SS - Everett
3B - Ensberg
LF - Burke
CF - Taveras
RF - Lane

Primary bench of Lamb, Bruntlett, Viscaino, Palmeiro. Bagwell barely played.

But man, that rotation of Clemens, Oswalt, Pettitte, Backe, Rodriguez was stout.

Scott Servais got into a fight with Bagwell and Biggio while he was on the team. IIRC it was over batting cage etiquette. Servais jumped the queue as a rookie. He was supposed to take his swings in the first group and he tried to push his way into the last group with the vets. He got set straight.

A few more now that I'm taking a moment to think

  • Milo Hamilton calling his final Astros game
  • J.R. Richard striking out 15 in his first major league start
  • Each of our Cy Young winners: Scott in '86, Clemens in '04, Keuchel in '15, and Verlander in '19
  • Bagwell ('94) and Altuve ('17) MVP winners
  • Creation of the Astros Hall of Fame
  • Bagwell walk-off single after coming back from shoulder injury
  • Biggio breaking the HBP record
  • Biggio breaking the NL lead off homer record (of course no where near Henderson for MLB record)
  • Darryl Kyle no-no
  • Verlander no-no
  • ...Fiers no-no (yeah, I know, rat, but it was in the series year, so still a great moment)
  • First home game after Harvey
  • Drayton selling the team to Crane
  • Altuve insider the park home run for his first career homer
  • The Memorial Day comeback

It's not a huge one, but the memorable play where Berkman made the over the shoulder catch going up Tal's Hill.

Also, Marwin's 9th inning HR in Game 2 of the WS. 2017

LMJ's 24 straight curve balls against the Yankees. 2017

Toy Cannon's monster HR in the Astrodome. 4/12/1970

The negatives may want to be included as well because they are memorable:
Pujols HR 10/17/2005
Jim Edmonds catch in NLCS 2004
20Ks against Kerry Wood 5/6/1998

This isn't really a hot take because I'm sure everyone on here would agree, but I'd gladly let Springer walk and trade Bregman if it meant we could sign Bauer

More sad but memorable events

Losing to the Phillies in 1980 with the last 4 games all in extra innings. Generally considered to be the greatest 5 game playoff series ever. Heartbreaking.

Ducking Fred Brocklander blowing the call at 1B in Game 5 of the 1986 NLCS. Cost the game and very possibly the series. Worst case Scott had the bump Game 7 and he was untouchable.

So now we're down a LF/DH, CF, AND a 3B, and paying out the ass for a player that plays every 5 days. We're going to lose enough offense and you want to drop Bregs, too. Who would play third?

This idea.... it is terrible.

Not sure in the trade Bregs part. Would suck to lose George but would be ok with it for Bauer.
