If you are going to expect 5 innings of 2hit ball from Valdez every time then you are correct to play that card, that is an anomaly and I will always disagree with pulling a starter after 4 innings of 2-3 hit ball and 1 run when his pitch count is so low. He's your stud, let him pitch

Agreed, our pitching is weirdly set up well for a 3 game series with the amount of stretching out of guys we had to do this year. Hell, maybe set up well for the playoffs. Need offense!

Valdez has been money all year long. 5 innings of 2 hit ball is not too much of an anomaly this year.

I was initially upset with pulling Grienke, but I think if you're going to put Framber in, it's best to do it at the beginning of an inning. You just run the risk of Grienke getting in trouble and then having to go to your bullpen. So that's the decision. Put the start you want in the beginning of the next inning or let Grienke go out there and try to get through another inning. If he gets in any trouble, you have to use the bullpen, who hasn't been great at keeping inherited runners from scoring.

Who was mad that Valdez came in during the 5th?

In a 3 game series I'm 100% fine with that because he was our 4 starter for this series anyways from what I saw on twitter.

That was a pretty vintage Houston Astros game. All of our runs came on 2 outs and we had some 2 out clutch hitting. We worked the starter and the relievers and made them throw strikes.

Need to do this again tomorrow.

That was quite the gamble bringing Framber in when we were down one. Glad we pulled it out.
