The Dodgers have been willing to sell off excess pieces to keep the farm strong (see Puig and Wood to the Reds). It's something I wish we would do. I'm okay with us doing nothing. The playoffs are a lock, and giving away anything to potentially lose an absolute crapshoot of a 3 game series would have been dumb.

Something is happening to cause him to be hit harder and higher.

Exit Velo: 87.6 -> 90.6 (highest of his career)
Launch Angle: 14.0 -> 17.5 (highest of his career)
Barrel %: 5.7% -> 11.1% (again highest of his career)
His vertical movement is slightly down across the board (not much tho) & velo too (again barely). Which makes sense because his spin is down too.
Looking at some of the visuals, he's throwing his breaking pitches outside and farther from the strike zone.
He's eliminated his sinker, but that was his worst pitch so it shouldn't be hurting him.
I fully expected to see something just out when reviewing him more closely, but I'm not seeing it. He's just getting roughed up. Maybe he's tipping? Did Maldonado make that much of a difference compared to Gary (I assume that's his catcher).

they are not in payroll prison yet, but eventually the Mookie extension is going to come into play.
in a couple of years...Mookie + Kershaw + Bellinger will equal $100 MM.
