Now I'm in the deep dive of Astros YouTube moments. Rookie Bagwell goes upper deck in Pittsburgh.

So I follow Yordan's wife on IG. I know creeper alert. But I was looking for intel on his situation when he was MIA. Anyway she just posted story of their kiddo in the car with the caption "On the road again."

I'm choosing to believe he is on his way back to Houston right now and will be in the lineup tomorrow.

This is some excellent TexAgging!

Nope. It's a non-game day I just needed to hate on someone. He seemed like a good target. Someone other than Pelosi.

Any chance you're also creeping on Allie LaForce?

Speaking of Yordan I had heard in the offseason he was going my the pronunciation "Jordan " now

Is that correct?

Speaking of Yordan - remember, he has the longest HR in Astros history at 474 ft.

I watch that and in the words of Drax the Detroyer, it makes my nether regions engorged.

This is what this team needs. Something amazing like that bomb and the sheer joy of everyone in the dugout.

Blummer: "I'm tingly".

It's the little things that you don't pick up live. And you know that dude up there never in a million years expected that an ICBM would land up there. He must have crapped himself watching the incoming round.

Maybe Yordan and show Tucker how to hit the inside pitches from RHPs.

And before I say goodnight, the moment in 1986 when 12-year-old Muck learned a new phrase from his Dad, who yelled at Dwight Gooden on the TV, "YEAH, SUCK ON THAT MFER! (but obviously MFER not abbreviated).

I posted a few pages back about Tucker's swing being terrible and somebody asked how. Compare his swing to Yordan. That's how.

Yordan is compact in his movement (as compact as a 6'6" 245# man can be anyway), his hands drive straight to the ball, and he doesn't drag the head of the bat through the zone like Tucker. All lefties have a bit of an uppercut to their swings but Yordan has one of the nicest swings I've ever seen.

Tucker's first move is to drop his hands and as he pulls his hands to the ball he creates a loop which gives him a hole in his swing as he struggles to get the head of the bat through the zone.

Tucker looks like he's throwing a log at a ball. Yordan attacks a pitch with the sole aim of destroying it. He's swinging as hard and fast as he can so when he makes contact even minimally it's a launch off his bat.

Not much to like about Tucker so far, least of all his swing.

has there ever been a documentary done on the 1991 Astros?

it was a remarkable collection of young talent that would become Hall of Famers, League MVP's, and World Series heroes. And of course mixed with tragedy.

Jeff Bagwell -- Hall of Fame
Craig Biggio -- Hall of Fame
Ken Caminiti -- MVP and tragic death
Darryl Kile -- 12-year pro, no-hitter, and tragic death
Luis Gonzalez -- 5-time all-star, 350 career HR's, Game 7 walkoff
Steve Finley -- 2-time all-star, 300 career HR's, 19-year career
Curt Schilling -- borderline HoF, World Series star
Kenny Lofton -- 6-time all-star

and you know Friday (8/14) begins the 4th week of the major league season.

many people did not think the season would get this far. Kudos to the players and other folks that have made it work.

(with the exception of the Cardinals and Marlins)

St. Louis is a trainwreck, but Miami is catching up. Will play games 13, 14, and 15 this weekend

Kenny Lofton only hit 130 career home runs in 17 seasons. Career slugging % of .423

and his career encompassed the entire steroid era. So I would feel safe in saying he didn't use anything.

as an aside...he had a .299 career batting average with 2,428 hits. Plus 622 stolen bases and 4 gold gloves. And the aforementioned 6 all-star appearances. Lifetime WAR of 68.4

should get a look from the veterans committee someday

Despite their god-awful record, this is an Astro team I loved. I was 17, had a summer job working at the IAH tossing luggage on and off planes, and went to 37 home games over the course of the summer, sitting in the pavilion for $4 a game.

That was a cool year for baseball. The Twins and Braves went both went worst to first. The Reds went from dominant WS champs to almost as bad as the Astros, The A's went from 3 straight WS appearances to finishing 4th, and the baseball writers collectively got down on their knees and gave Cal Ripken the MVP from a team that went 67-95.

Seriously, Luis Gonzalez should be skewered more for steroid use than any other player in history.

Playing full seasons from 1991-1997 he hit a total of 84 home runs. (12 per year)

From 1998-2003 he hit 191 (31.8 per year) including 57 in 2001. He hit 88 in 2000-2001. Ridiculous.

Finley never hit more than 11 as an Astro, then hit 30 and 28 with the Padres the same years that Caminiti was there winning the MVP.

Finley then hit 34 and 35 in 1999-2000 as teammates with Gonzalez on the Diamondbacks. At age 28, Finley had 47 career home runs and finished with 304.

Seriously. And you guys seem to be forgetting about the Yordan who was 1 for 22 in the ALCS with 12 strikeouts. He made Kyle Tucker look like Stan Musial.

What are you? His freaking mother?

The guy killed it in the minors but is hitting .207 in the big leagues with a .635 OPS and minimal pop. He's yet to show he can hit big league pitching.

Yordan, on the other hand absolutely murdered big league pitchers from the minute he was called up. Yes, he struggled mightily in the ALCS (I think he was pressing a bit- he also had a bit of bad luck where he absolutely smoked several balls straight to Yankees' outfielders). He also hit .316 and .412 in the ALDS & WS, respectively.

It's not hating to expect a guy who was taken #5 overall, murdered it in the minors, and has been touted as the #1 prospect in the organization and even nicknamed "Ted" because he supposedly reminds people of the greatest hitter of all time, Ted Williams, do at a minimum look like a competent major leaguer and not have a hole in his swing that a 10-year old can recognize.

Agree on Gonzo - good dude but was absolutely juicing. However Brady Anderson says hello.

Yeah, agreed. Gonzo is on the list, but there are quite a few poster boys equally high on the juice bus. Anderson is certainly a contender, but I would put Sosa and Bonds up there too. Bonds record of 73 is 24 more than his next highest season total. Sosa hit 36, 40, 36 in consecutive seasons, then suddenly cranked 66 in 1998... sure. Anderson was even worst- averaged 15 for a decade with the one outlier season of 50... 26 higher than his next best season. That is very similar to Gonzo's 26 homer improvement in 2001.
