Have to believe part of this delay is about gaining an extra year of control over him.
They already got it.EastCoastAgNc said:

I think $12-14MM would be the market. maybe 3 years max. I think a Reddick type deal he got with us. Age is not his friend.Ag_07 said:
What's the market gonna be for Yuli?
He's making 8.7MM (12th) this year and the 10th highest paid 1Bman makes 16.5MM (Rizzo).
Is it crazy to think that someone would give him 20MM per? That would put him at 8th between Carlos Santana and Brandon Belt.
Not a GM, and not that smart, but with his age I'd offer 4 or 5 for like 12 per average. Load up the first 2 years and taper off, with incentives, in the later years.Ag_07 said:

Straw is so overmatched.
It'll be interesting to see if Kapler pulls him after 3. I'll assume he will if Webb can't get out of this.WoMD said:bearkatag15 said:
There is a chance. The Giants pitcher is young with minimal experience. Doesn't go deep and gives up lots of hits and walks.
He's actually looked pretty solid so far this year. He doesn't go deep because Gabe kapler is a horrible manager who pulls all of his starters in the 5th and 6th inning regardless of pitch count or how he's doing. He's been arguably our best starter so far, which doesn't say much...
That said, kapler is a horrible horrible manager, so expect him to do something stupid late in the game to give you guys a great chance to take the lead if you're behind.
Have a mentioned how bad kapler is?
