Team sure seems to be a shell of its former self. Not sure if it's the loss of Hinch, Cole, or other players, or some combination thereof.

With so many teams in contention, this could be a chance to replenish the farm system at the trade deadline.

Reddick, Yuli & Brantley probably not coming back. Its time to give the young guys a shot. I know we will likely still make the playoffs, but don't have the pitching to win it and don't have the pieces to trade for more pitching, especially with so many teams competing for arms this year.

Of course a playoff-capable JV changes all of this.

Altuve is cold. Bregman is coming out of it a bit. Now Brantley is cold.

Your entire offense can't rely on 2-3 guys. Last year our offense 1-7 were .280+ hitters and it seemed like the catcher position was the only semi-easy out.

This team has lost something and it has nothing to do with Gerrit Cole. I don't know if Altuve let all the offseason stuff go to his head and maybe the hate he's getting has gotten to him, I dont know. Maybe the core guys are pressing to prove people wrong about 2017.

I'm thinking these guys are about to go on a 10-12 game winning streak.

Right now these guys can't get 10 hits a game. They are hitting as poorly as I have seen them hit in maybe 5 years.

Whatever. Stay ahead of the Angels. Get to the playoffs. Anything can happen.

They need to play some series in front of a rabid home crowd. That just isn't in the cards.

Honestly I wouldn't doubt it. Manfred probably feels pressure from these entitled and stupid fanbases who think we didn't get disciplined enough so he's sent down orders to have close calls not go our way. Bregman has had tons of bad strike calls this year.
