His value is maxed because it still has 2 years after this year.

The math on whether to deal him or not is very simple. Do you plan on spending in this off-season to build a legitimate contender in 2021?

If the answer is yes, then you keep him and try to work a long-term deal knowing that worst case you have him cheap for 2 years on a competitive club.

If the answer is "we're going to add some pieces if they are available" (read: piece-meal like we've done the last 3-4 offseasons) then you dangle him to the 2021 and 2022 contenders with the remainder of 2020 being a bonus.

Unfortunately we all know what we're going to get -- keep him, no significant contending moves in the off-season, and then try and deal him at the 2021 or 2022 deadlines and suddenly find the market isn't what we hoped.

Lynn and Minor should have been gone the second Kluber went down.

You know what's really sad?

Even if we got bad ass Kluber, we would be wasting him. Our offense still struggles to put up the standard 3 runs a game that you'd expect from a MLB quality offense.

You know what's really sad?

Even if we got bad ass Kluber, we would be wasting him. Our offense still struggles to put up the standard 3 runs a game that you'd expect from a MLB quality offense.

But Lynn/Minor/Kluber gave you a shot... and with a shot you can add a piece at the deadline and become very dangerous.

Once Kluber went down you realistically had to have a lot of things go right and still add two significant pieces... which is what 80% of the MLB can say every year.

What they really needed to add was Castellanos and Moustakas to that. Would have taken about $30 mill per year to add both, which is not outrageous at all

It would have also saved us from having the worst infield in the league.

1st base and 3rd base are unbelievably terrible. 2nd is a joke too.

Hoepfully it's minor and he's back shortly. Otherwise, after last year, concerns about him being able to stay in the lineup start to build. So much explosive power, but as he enters his mid to late 20s, it could make you wonder if his body is able to keep up with it

I didn't see a definitive tag on the first couple of replays. MLB and NFL both seem to have adopted the replay practice of more likely than not. The rules say that it needs to be indisputable. Drives me nuts.

It's the rangers fault for letting him rehab on the job again like they did last season.

Some pretty awful umpiring there. Not sure what angle the mlb review crew had, but one that showed a tag definitively applied while Choo was off wasn't one fox showed. And LOL at that chin high strike 3
