Welp. The bright side of leaving 12 runners on base is that you had 12 runners on base. Pitching has given up 3ER in two games to a pretty good hitting team.

Santana's a good player, but if he's in the 3-hole that's not a good thing. Also not a good thing when your 1B is hitting in the 7-hole.

Also it's easy to cast off the loss of Hunter Pence, but he had over a .900 OPS over about half a season. And while Maz was oft-maligned he still had an above average year at the plate. Certainly looks like that production hasn't been replaced so far through an extremely small sample size.

Well so far the offense looks pretty similar to last year, too dependent on the long ball. We desperately need a good right handed bat to plug in the middle of the line up and get Elvis and Santana out of the heart of the order.
