True but when I think cleanup hitter on the NL Championship team in 2005 I don't think Morgan Ensberg.

And he was just robbed by a classic Jim Edmonds diving on the warning track deep in the gap with his back to the infield.

Ensberg had a really strange career. He only played 7 seasons.

had the amazing 2005 with the top 4 MVP finish and the silver slugger award. Posted a .945 OPS. Hit .313 w/RISP and slugged over .600 w/RISP.

but was done 3 years later. Fell off a cliff after 30 years of age.

his career OBP (.362) was 99 points higher than his career BA (.263).

his career earning were just above $11 MM. Did not make it to free agency in time

F 'em...They got what they wanted in full pro-rata salary.

Someone needs to explain to them that in a negotiation both sides give up something to get something.

My toddler understands this concept.

I am hoping it is all posturing to get closer to 70 games like most were reporting when the news about the deal initially came out. Otherwise, the players are going to look like hypocrites.

My girlfriends dad has season tickets, and he said they just are going to credit them to 2021. That was back in May though

We all said yesterday the players should jump on that offer. Now here they are declining and making another counter.

At this point are we at the point where either side won't accept the other's offer just for the perception of being the one to crack and accept the other's terms?

The DH is not a shock. It's a big salary spot for older players. It would have been a big fight in the next labor deal and something the players would get them anyways. The owners doing it would be a big deal IMHO.

I am just glad that the union was willing to waive their right to file a grievance, that seems pretty big. From where they were (not talking at all) to where they are now makes me think that this gets done soon.
