Goldin Auctions has pulled the authentic 2017 Houston Astros World Series ring from its auction after being contacted by the Astros.
The team had team employees sign a contract before they were given the reward. Part of that contract states that the ringholder must offer the ring back to the Astros for the the price of $1 before attempting to sell it elsewhere.

4 of them have payrolls between $130 MM and $200 MM.
if a 100-game season starts July 1st...those teams might only be able to play 20 home games because their state will be among the last to open up public stadiums (with crowds).
can those teams meet their (pro-rated) payroll with only 20 games of gate receipts? Even with TV revenue, the math may not work. Those clubs might be against starting the season period

It was a completely harmless mistake on his part. The players either ignored it or did the opposite of what he said to do. Because they are upright honest players that would never stoop to that level of dishonesty in the game. Cheating in any form is wrong and should never be tolerated.
