At some point, you reach a level where there is too much precaution. I think with the awareness of the virus you could put out memos (if you have a fever or dry cough - do not come to the game) and get 99.5% of people following the rule and there will be little issue. How do you regulate that? That's the "rule" all the time, yet sick people go to work, school, events, etc daily. Also, you may have it and can spread it but not be showing signs you're sick.

Pretty much you don't, as evidenced by the spread of the disease across the world over the past couple if weeks. You can slow the spread by keeping your self sanitized and avoiding large groups.
Cancelling the big events will help, but also people should take personal responsibility and not go if they are concerned. For most people, it's not too bad. For some it's deadly. Let people decide themselves how they want to handle it.

But there is a big downside to being too cautious....a severe recession or even depression. If you take unnecessary steps, their are serious consequences as well.
The response needs to be thoughtful and analytical based on the facts at hand, not emotional or panicked to save some local brand.

just for reference...the 1995 season did not start until April 26th due to the players' strike.

Given the lengthy incubation period he could have been exposed at the all star game.
Somehow this will all be because the Astros cheated.
Probably a great time for MLB to release their report on the Red Sox, as well as what they've found about other teams cheating.

Other teams are hiring the Florida Marlins as consultants on what it's like to play in front of an empty stadium .
If MLB says fans cannot attend games, then who will be there to harass and boo the 'stros at away games?
At least this has taken some of the attention away from us.
