Have you been reading our thread or just today? If you've been reading, you know for a fact we've all agree we cheated. This is literally not a debate. We just want justice for the other teams who also cheated at this point.

Of course we would be up in arms if the roles were reversed. I can only answer for myself, but I certainly would not be calling for the WS title to be stripped if the roles were reversed. What good does that do?

One of the most prolific WS homeruns ever by the NY Giants, in 1954 in game 1, is well known to have had sign-stealing involved in that AB. The NY Giants went on to win the WS. Should that WS be stripped?

Here are the stats from the 2017 ALCS. The first chart is overall. The second isolates the pitching matchups that occurred at both venues. If you just looked at these stats, which team looks like the team that might have been cheating during home games?

Every team was trying to get the signs however they could, we were either better at it, or we just happened to have the one ***hole who decided to talk about it after changing teams.

Absolutely, piece together the responses and they are all extremely similar when asked about other teams doing it. They were either told it was part of their immunity by MLB or at the team meeting with Crane/Dusty.

I love how the media and pitch fork mob have all been *****ing about the Astros not saying anything. Then when they do they get hammered even worse. WTF do you want them to say?? How about just shutting the **** up and playing baseball.

And Yankees fans - I've seen many of them just assuming the Astros were cheating in 2018 and 2019 (even though MLB found no evidence). Ok, if you think they cheated in 18 and 19, then YOU have a cheater on your current roster and you're paying him a pant load of money. You can't hammer JV and pretend Cole knew nothing about it. To me that's saying "Doesn't matter, won a WS". And that implies, "well ya maybe our cheating won our WS but who cares, we still have it!"

I don't agree with that. I do not see that the banging won us a WS. Carlos even said they didn't use it in the postseason.

So I like that they are addressing it and being honest.

Carlos did a good job of articulating something that is getting lost in all this: It's one thing to steal signs and relay them against the futile White Sox in a meaningless September game with 15k moderately interested fans in the ballpark. It's a totally different thing to steal them from a team that basically knows you're doing it, is using complex sign schemes/changing them frequently, in a highly critical game, in a ballpark with 45k screaming fans.

The Astros didn't have the ability to just pull it off whenever they wanted to. There were times of varying confidence levels. And the confidence level would need to be reasonably high for a hitter to even bother with it. Otherwise he's much better off taking a normal approach at the plate. No one wants the fastball sign relayed when the curveball is coming. And that's not even mentioning the fact that MLB increasingly had officials in the dugouts/hallways to make sure it wasn't happening.

So the idea that they were just going to keep cheating until they got caught is kinda short sighted. It seems like the strategy ran it's natural course and died out.
