Can not wait till we can actually trot out a real centerfielder. DD isn't gonna cut it and his demeanor just rubs me wrong, always has.

Out of position for single with bases loaded.
Catcher setup on wrong side of plate for next run.

That's two outs no runs vs one out three runs.
I think IKF thought Cabrera was going to the inside, and never corrected. Also, the runner came to the inside, as well, thinking Cabrera would go inside.

Not sure why Widsom was so far off the line at 1B, but he was way off.

Both disappointing... They had mentioned when it was 6-1, that it was well over 900 days since Smyly got a W.

He homers more than 0.5 times per game against Texas. I looked it up last year. It may be the most abusive relationship in the history of MLB.

Definitely a Ranger killer, but I still have nightmares of Vlad Guerrero and Kyle f'n Seager

They'll likely go 2 seasons with the original plan. They'll need to measure the contempt from players and fans vs the amount of revenue generated, for the 1st season. The 2nd season will be to plan for the 3rd season.

If the revenue is high enough in relation to contempt, the 3rd season will be "we tweaked some things." You know because they have the best playing surface... but will make it even better.

I can't see them ever turning back to grass. Think about it... it marque FAs don't want to come here because of the turf, they get to hid behind the "we tried to get FAs to come here, but got outbid." And let's face it... if they can hide behind that, then they now have a high revenue stadium, with low cost anchor team.

They'll have high priced Corporate STHs, and low cost home grown drafted/traded talents.

After that PH by Santana, I was going to post, "Ok, lurkers... come out and post."

Too late.

Decisions like that make JD and Woody look great.

Rangers debut by a 28 year old retreat gets a 2R Triple, in the bottom of the 8th.. 1 Out.

Those are dreams.

I was "Nicing" his bunt, which brought in the go-ahead.

Elvis looked like he wanted to know the same thing. It's still kind of amazing to me how much he's grown up as a player even though he's still a goof off.

If anyone else is still watching the post game show, very cool of Delino to take the kid who has the blue in his hair like him into the lockerroom.

I wonder if this game is an indication that this staff is more willing to play small ball than the previous staff was. A bunt to score the go ahead run is something you did not see under Banister.

This is a good confidence-type win. To get down like that and then pull ahead. Great to see LeClerc close it out too, he had looked bad his last two times out. Maybe they can go on a little bit of a win streak here.

It will be interesting.

Coming from the NL, that is certainly a thought. After the game, Woody indicated that he had hoped Beasley would let Santana know it was possible DD would bunt. With the speed of Santana, how deep Chapman was playing, with DD bunt ability the only play would be the Catcher's. I liked Choo slapping to LF, against the shift. If the team plays to score runs by taking what the other team gives them, it will be exciting.

One thing for sure, this team can generate runs. Santana has limited English, but you can tell he is excited to be here. On the radio post-game, he indicated that he had thanked the team for calling him up. Asked what position he was best suited for, he said he was athletic and could play whatever they asked him to play... he came across as willing to sweep the dugout and rake the field, if it kept him on the roster. Not desperate, but thankful.

Anyone else hoping that Santana plays his azz off at 2B and gives the rangers something to think about?

If Santana plays well, that's obviously good. But with the money owed to Odor, we aren't trading him for anything of much value unless he can prove to be a more consistent player. He's more patient now it seems, but goes hot / cold too much. He's still young though.
DallasAg 94
How long do you want to ignore this user?

What is there to think about, with Santana?

I hope he does well. I'd really like to see the Rangers find value in him.

He got a PH in an AB. He is 0-1, in his 1st GS for the season.

He is 28, with a career
265 GP, 1166 PA, 13 HRs, 48 SB, .256 BA. .293 OBP, .378 SLG, .670 OPS.

Where as, Odor..
He is 25, 3 years younger, with a career
687 GP, 2752 PA, 106 HRs, 52 SB, .246 BA. .294 OBP, .436 SLG, .731 OPS

If a player's prime is still considered 27-31/32, Santana is there. Odor, still has 2 more years before he approaches his prime...

I've said this many times, and I know you guys don't like it... but Odor will likely end his career as Top 10-15, All-Time in Offensive stats for a 2B.

48th in HRs (106). If he goes 2 more years over 30 HRs/yr, 166 HRs would put him at T22. He would still be younger than Santana is right now.

If we go to turf, and his knees can't take the turf... either his career ends short, or he will demand a trade.

We could easily trade him.
