I'm willing to give him a little time, but at the rate I keep hearing about "the process," something tells me I'm going to be begging them to bring back "never, ever quit."

I'm less worried about "the process."

Some believe you don't let the other team's best player beat you, you make someone else on the roster beat you. Some believe mano-y-mano, you treat every player on the other roster as if you can beat them.

Coming into the series, there was only 1 player you believe can beat you on the the Halos. That is Trout.

We don't have a single pitcher that I think matches up well against Trout. And he beat us.

If his plan is to believe enough in his pitchers that they can beat anyone... that is good information to take into the season.

We lost 3 games to one player. Hopefully woody learned his lesson.

I think we were spoiled with the 5-2 start. This team isn't supposed to win more than about 75 games this year, and with the starting pitching we have, it's gonna be really hard to top that. Woodward is still a first year manager, and there's gonna be a learning curve for him as well.

I have no concept of why they kept pitching to him. It was abundantly clear he's on fire even for him right now.

Isn't this team supposed to be all about analytics now? I can't imagine the numbers said to keep pitching to Trout, and yet 5...HRs later....

So the good news is it'll be another week before Trout hits another HR against the Rangers . Oh, and we had some positive vibes from some prospects yesterday as well.

Maybe Wisdom can show something at 1B now that Guzman is down for a few weeks. I think Forsythe is mostly a fillin/backup utility type at best. And the beat writers are saying Gallo is saying in LF most likely, so he isn't taking over at 1B, unless Guzman is out longer than expected they say.

Those are two of the Rangers best position prospects, and they have a lot of upside...they've gotten off to red-hot starts to the season, and will be worth watching in the coming days to see if they keep producing.

I know it is just once through the rotation, but looking good.

It isn't a new strategy, but I like the spares JD put in Nashville. Allows the guys we plan to rely on in the future, to not be rushed. We'll also need a bunch of them to cycle back and forth to Arlington.

Bringing guys from Nashville isn't as easy as Round Rock. Nor Okie City, for that matter. Or San Antonio.

Field looks pretty good

It's a bit on the shiny side, which is usually the give-away. Much better than that disaster in Tampa, but that's always the issue with the look to me.

Agree. Find whatever shade of green is least reflective and stick with that.

And a real warning track, not this brown turf business.

Pretty clear the Rangers announcers got their talking points given to them in regards to the turf. Going out of their way to point out that they can't tell any difference between the turf and real grass . Kind of slipped when he said look at the dirt bounce up following Choo's double to RCF. Then corrected himself to coconut shells. Ummm, dirt doesn't bounce up from the middle of the outfield grass on normal fiends. But whatever, we'll get used to it.

Another good start by Minor, 7IP, 2R. Both runs came on solo home runs.

I was following on stat tracker.

I'm not sure, yet, if the Rangers are going to suck me in... or push me away.

It was really about showing respect to a local athlete who committed his career to one team... committed to the city and the fans.

No real reason to watch another NBA game... I haven't had a reason to watch for many years.

Just take it for what it is and remind yourself that we are shooting for a .500 record this year and progress from our younger mlb players and the minor league prospects.
