Like I said earlier...
For Tucker its June 2nd to get that extra year of control. For Yordan its not exactly clear.Mr.Bond said:bearkatag15 said:

I'd rather have an average defensive but good offensive catcher, than have a below average hitting catcher who's amazing behind the plate.
My point is a catcher's defense is magnified in big games. Especially in this new era of pitching where spin is becoming more and more prevalent. Not only is there defense magnified, but how they handle the pitcher and their preparation is magnified as well.
I'm not saying I want below average hitting catcher who's amazing behind the plate. I am saying I'd rather have a catcher who might be an average hitter and above average defensively who can help keep a pitcher's emotions in check in a big game situation.
I keep going back to the quote from John Smoltz in the first FOX game in the first boston series.Marvin said:
Tread water and get guys healthy. The team is obviously dug in on the mindset of keeping control of Tucker and Alvarez at the expense of a few mid-season wins. No sense stressing over it, because the team is keeping to its strategy.
Just have to lean on Verlander, Pressly and Osuna on the mound, and Brantley, Bregman and Yuli at the plate. Throw in Marisnick, Harris and Chirinos at opportune times and survive until the break.
Yup. Will be interesting to see what the line up looks like tonight. With the righty, would expect to see Josh and Tony out there.mathguy86 said:
And we thought it was AAA last night.
